Why Are We Dancing?

They say that character is revealed when pressure is applied. And when society was challenged by an unimaginable fight, we saw people across West Michigan use their gifts for the greater good. Distilleries started making hand sanitizer. Tooling companies pivoted and started making parts for ventilators. It felt like any person with a sewing machine began making masks for essential workers. But why? Because deep down we’re all wondering the same question: What can I do to help?

Our answer? The Groove.

We created this to support our community’s heroes, to dance with our friends, and to make our neighbors, classmates and co-workers feel together again.

Because #InThisTogether was never meant to be minimized to a hashtag. It’s a statement that calls us to action—for each other. No matter who you are, we all have a gift to share with the community.

The Groove is our community response.
